Started in collaboration with Łukasz Trzciński and D. Kowalik, the project invites the visitors to explore the sphere of pain. In the version prepared for the Cricoteka, Lemperk refers to both the experiences caused by the endlessly looped tumult of history, politics, and war and the experiences recorded in the body. The elements used for this purpose are the human body, a wooden table, plaster casts reinforced with hair, the black walls of the Szatnia Gallery, harsh noises, and photographs taken in her home city, in Ukraine.

Lemperk’s activity will be preceded with several days of work directly at the Szatnia Gellery, where, using plaster and hair (her own and provided by her close ones), she
will produce plaster copies of the items lost by her family during the several evacuations. During PAIN GAME (second station), the exhibition space will be a place for mapping institutional violence and for actions to be taken together with the employees of the Cricoteka.

Additionally, PAIN GAME (second station) is also a play with the Cricoteca itself, as the institution was established Tadeusz Kantor, whose artistic output is thoroughly filled with pain, trauma, and memories. By interacting with the objects-afterimages she has produced rather than with Kantor himself, Lemperk enters into a dialog with what Kantor has left: the walls of the institution, its guests, and the people that work there.

The PAIN GAME (second station) exhibition is held as part of the third edition
of the Cloakroom exhibition programme which involves curatorial research
and identification of more or less recognizable links to the work of Tadeusz Kantor
in contemporary visual arts.
