Description

This two-day intensive workshop for teachers will be led by Lucy Cran of UK-based artist duo Leap Then Look, internationally recognised for their research-driven approach to creative learning through play, sensory experience and active participation.

Through a fun and practical programme of making, experimentation and collaboration, participants will explore creative prompts, interdisciplinary approaches and ways of learning through touch, materials and discovery. The weekend will offer adaptable ideas and methods that teachers can take directly back into their own practice.

About the Artists

Leap Then Look was founded in 2019 by artists Lucy Cran and Bill Leslie. They create interactive art works and exhibitions,, workshops and events and have worked with participants from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and cognitive differences. Their works encourage audiences to physically interact, inspiring playfulness, inquisitiveness and experimentation. Our installations combine art forms including sculpture and object making, performance, film, and photography.

We believe that contemporary art practice should and can be made available and accessible to everyone and that we can all benefit from engaging with new ways of looking, making and thinking.

We have worked across the UK and internationally with institutions such as; Tate, Royal Academy of Arts, National Gallery, Henry Moore Foundation, Turner Contemporary, Victoria & Albert Museum, Almaty Museum for Contemporary Art (Kazakhstan), New Children’s Museum (USA), Black Mountain College Museum (USA), Harvard Education (USA)

The project is co-financed by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage through the Culture Promotion Fund, which is a state special-purpose fund, within the framework of the Cultural Education program carried out by the National Cultural Center.
