Accompanying events | exhibition “Constellations”

We warmly invite you to participate in the events accompanying the Constellations exhibition organized as part of the Copernicus Festival 2023: Cosmos! Events for adults and children will be held on June 11, 17 and 18.

Constellations is a story of abstraction that goes beyond the framework of a painter’s microcosm. It is an observation of creative processes that meet and intertwine, forming completely new, inter-generational forms. It is a story of artists who share gestures and fascination with painting as energy; the arrangement of colors on a surface is only a result of this. Finally, it is an overview of a painter’s search the boundaries of which are unknown, much like those of cosmos.

Workshops for children

Which way to the Great Bear and the Little Bear? Where do we find the mythical Phoenix? The answers to these questions are written in the stars! All you need to do is look into the sky. There, an infinite number of celestial bodies await, forming constellations that bear amazing names. Using mops, brushes, and other unorthodox painting tools, we will create our own constellations.

Tickets are PLN 20 and can be purchased from the ticket office or at https://bilety.cricoteka.pl/.

18 June, between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM
Host: Marcin Miętus
Caution! Paint!

The workshop will focus on art informel and action painting, also known as gestural painting. In the Cricoteka’s yard, in a specially designated area secured with foil, the participants, dressed in overalls, will have an opportunity to unleash their expression by splashing and splattering paint to create original artworks through a method drawing on Jackson Pollock. The participants will be able to act spontaneously and unconventionally, with gestures and freedom that are usually rare. The workshop is available to everyone, regardless of age and artistic competences.

The activities will be of open nature. You can join at any time between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Admission is free.
